Privacy Architecture

  • Your email never leaves your device.

    When you type your data into Sentinel, we don't send it anywhere. Everything kept locally, in your device browser's engine.

  • Your browser computes a cryptographic hash.

    Using the browser's native SubtleCrypto API, your data is converted to a SHA-1 hash. An irreversible encoding pattern, entirely on you device.

  • We are only getting the first 5 characters of that hash.

    A simple 5 character prefix matches ~500 different other data. We return all breach records for that prefix. Your device browser identifies which belong to you.

  • You see the results. We see nothing.

    All of the filtering happens in your device browser. No logs, No email, No session tracking, were capture. Cryptographically impossible to identify you from what we receive.
